Flip Pallot

Flip Pallot

Few names resonate as deeply in the world of light tackle fly fishing as the name Flip Pallot. If you’re like us, you may remember waking up on Saturday mornings and watching Flip’s show, the Walkers Cay Chronicles. The very intro to the show still stirs the same curious passion in us that it did over 20 years ago, when Flip was pioneering the saltwater light tackle fishing world and filming episodes of his show in places that only existed in our wildest thoughts.

Interestingly enough, Flip began his career as a banker, but financing other peoples’ dreams wore him down. He decided to take a leap of faith and left the corporate world to begin guiding light tackle fishing trips in his home state of Florida. After over a decade of guiding, Flip would begin filming the Walkers Cay Chronicles and served as the host of the critically acclaimed show for 15 years.

Flip has written books, continued to film and has been one of the most single influential figures on the skiff building and fishing industries in history. In fact, Flip Pallot is a co-founder of Hell’s Bay Boatworks and still serves in an advisor capacity with the current owners.  (Check out our Fish Hippie Hell’s Bay blog post, here)

If you’ve ever met Flip, you’ll soon realize he is as approachable as they come and one of the greatest story tellers of all time. We have greatly enjoyed developing our relationship with him and the memories that we have started to create together. The Flip Pallot and Fish Hippie partnership has come extremely naturally, as his passion for the outdoors pairs perfectly with a great appreciation for the fine products that allow him to enjoy these pursuits.
